Tool 22 — Free, no sign-up

Watch the wishlist move.

Type in today's number. The tool keeps the history, draws the curve and tells you where launch day lands if nothing changes.

The link carries your settings and launch date, never the log. The log lives in this browser and nowhere else.

That link would not decode — cut off or edited on the way. The settings are back on their defaults. Your log is untouched; it never travels in a link.

Today's number

The balance, not lifetime adds. Deletions and purchases have already come off it.

Steam's wishlist figures update once a day. Read them at the same time each day or the daily adds will bounce for no reason.

Projection

Everything to the right of your last entry is a guess. This is where the guess stops.
Shape of the guess
A straight line assumes today's rate holds. Decay assumes it fades between beats, which is closer to the truth outside a festival.
15%
Only used by the decaying mode.

The first-week money

12%
Share of outstanding wishlists that buy in the first week.
2.0x
Units sold divided by wishlist conversions. The discovery queue, tags and streamers do this part.
15%
Taken off every unit in the first week.
30%
The store's share of each sale.
70%
What one sold unit actually reports, as a share of the USD sticker, once regional prices and VAT are out.
10%
Units that come back. A refund is a lost unit, not a price cut, so it comes off the count.

Nothing logged yet.

One number a day, ideally at the same time of day. Two entries is enough to draw a line; two weeks is enough to trust it.

Where to find it: Steamworks, your app, Marketing and Visibility, then Wishlists. Take the outstanding balance from the top of that report, not the lifetime additions.

Log the day you announce, the day the trailer lands and every festival day. The notes column is what makes the chart worth reading six months later.

The log

Wishlist log: outstanding balance, additions, days between rows and the rate
Date Outstanding Added Days Per day Note Delete

The log is stored in this browser only. Clearing site data deletes it, so export the JSON now and again. Reads a JSON file this tool exported. Rows with the same date replace what is already there.

The first-week estimate

  1. Week-one buyers = outstanding wishlists × conversion.
  2. Week-one units sold = those buyers × the organic multiplier.
  3. Units kept = units sold × (1 − refunds).
  4. Gross per unit = price × (1 − discount) × price realisation.
  5. Week-one net = units kept × gross per unit × (1 − platform cut).

The 12% conversion and the 2.0x organic multiplier are our own planning defaults, set 2026-09-11, not a published benchmark. They match the wishlist-to-revenue calculator on purpose: two tools answering the same question with different numbers means one of them is wrong.

Working backwards from a revenue target instead? The wishlist-to-revenue calculator does that.

A planning number, not a promise. Wishlists that sat untouched for two years convert far worse than wishlists added last month, and no tool on earth knows which yours are.
