Tool 17 — Free, no sign-up

A press kit, in one sitting.

Journalists and creators want the same things every time. Fill them in once, take away Markdown and a self-contained HTML page, and stop answering the same email.

The game

Under 160 characters. This is the line that gets pasted into a news post.
Markdown allowed. Lead with what the player does, not with the studio history.
Comma separated. Use the words your store page uses.
Platforms

Features

Five or six lines, verb first. Not a design document.

Videos & links

An address a human reads. Not a contact form.
Where a journalist or a creator asks for a build. An address, a key-distribution link, or one sentence saying how.
Creators check this before they record. Say it here and nobody has to email to ask.

Social links

Quotes & awards

Leave it empty until you have something real. An empty section reads better than a padded one.

Team

Fact sheet extras

Say it in UTC and say it in the first screen of the kit.

Logo & screenshots

URLs only. Nothing is uploaded here and nothing leaves this browser. Host the files somewhere a journalist can hotlink without a login. Set the kind on each image: the completeness check counts key art and screenshots separately.

One link, no login, with logos, key art, screenshots and the trailer as a file.

Caveats

  • Everything you type stays in this browser. There is no server call, no account, and clearing your site data deletes it.
  • The generated HTML has no external dependencies, so it works from a file, an S3 bucket or a subdirectory of your site. It is also plain enough that you will want to restyle it, which is fine.
  • Image URLs are used as written. If they are behind a login, a signed URL or a hotlink block, the kit is broken for the person you sent it to.
  • A press kit does not get you coverage. It removes the reason to skip you when somebody is already interested and has forty minutes before deadline.
